Introducing Cassandra Frederick

As part of the Framing Marks Gate series we photographed and interviewed a series of local residents and key workers who have played an interesting role on Marks Gate. Meet Cassandra Frederick of Cassandra’s Candles, Marks Gate resident, ‘Intuitive Consultant’ and Candle-maker! Cassandra has also been instrumental in helping to set up the Marks Gate Arts Collective, a group of creative local residents who plan to deliver an arts programme in Marks Gate in 2015.
What’s your name and age?
Cassandra Frederick, 31
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m an Intuitive Consultant, I provide 1-2-1 and group Readings, Meditation sessions, Personal Development classes and various workshops. I also make Chakra Candles to aid wellbeing. My interest in the more spiritual aspect of life began when I became extremely ill. I was diagnosed with chronic conditions, so I used these practices, my chakra candles as well as the help of professionals to improve my health both mentally and physically. I am a happy-go-lucky and highly spiritual person. I embrace all things holistic, especially therapeutic treatments. I love what I do and have a genuine love for helping others.
Why are you on Marks Gate?
I live on Marks Gate.
How long have you known Marks Gate?

What are your experiences of Marks Gate?
Great little community and fab friends!
Tell us a special memory that you have of Marks Gate.
St Marks Church, it was the life & soul of Marks Gate and the hub of the community – everyone was always welcome there. And receiving the confirmation letter from Creative Barking & Dagenham stating that the Marks Gate Arts Collective’s (MGAC) application for funding to set up an Arts Programme in Marks Gate was approved, yay!
